The Jamaica Association of Social Workers (JASW) is a professional membership organization for social workers, social work students, and other social service workers in Jamaica. We work on behalf of members to contribute to the creation of a just society through the promotion of healthy human relationships, equality and social justice. |
OUr HistoryRecognizing the need to support both the profession and professionals, JASW was founded in 1968 at the Social Welfare Training Centre under the leadership of the late Mrs. Una Tapper, University Hospital of the West Indies UHWI Medical Social Work Department and Karlene Boyce-Reid who is still a member today.
